I’m sure when you hear the word “Technology” you think of computers, laptops, smartphones or some electronic device. Well, I want to open you mind to seeing the work ”Technology” a little differently.
According to the dictionary definition, technology is (noun) the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry.
Technology is the collection of techniques, skills, methods and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation. Technology can be the knowledge of techniques, processes, and the like, or it can be embedded in machines, computers, devices, and factories, which can be operated by individuals without detailed knowledge of the workings of such things.
I view Technology as a systematic and scientific approach to a solution of a problem. So, ideas alone is not a technology and a technique along is not a technology.
Given this the invention of the wheel is technology. The invention of the lightbulb is a technology. The development of the knife is a technology.
My point this week is let’s not limit our view of technology as an electronic device alone.
